2014 Buick Encore Prepares for Second Model Year
Already catching a lot of attention with its 2013 model, the 2014 Buick Encore is sure to offer improved features for it’s second model year. The 2013 Encore turned heads with its smaller size and unique design, finding a niche in the sub-compact crossover category while serving the sport-utility purpose. There are few other subcompact crossovers on the market to compete with the Encore.
For 2014, consumers can expect interiors that are trimmed in either all black materials or a multi-tone brown palette that’s a bit warmer according to kansascity.com. It will likely keep the existing spacious dimensions for ample head room, and will add new safety features on top of those advancements in the 2013 model.
Standard safety for 2014 includes front-seat knee airbags, front and rear side airbags, side curtain airbags, traction and stability control, anti-lock disc brakes, and a rear view camera. The 2014 model will add available blind-zone monitoring and cross-traffic alert for the rear view camera. The front-wheel drive model received an EPA fuel economy estimate of 25 mpg city, 33 mpg on the highway, and 28 combined mpg. For the all-wheel drive model is rated at 23 mpg city, 30 mpg on the highway, and 26 mpg combined. The 2014 Encore will likely debut late this year.
