2015 GMC Canyon: Made for Truck Lovers
The new GMC Canyon is creating excitement amongst consumers, and fulfilling needs not previously been met by today’s popular large pickup trucks. The Canyon is packed with features that any truck lover would appreciate, and the Canyon’s size is one of them.
It’s been almost 10 years since a General Motors midsize truck was introduced to the public. The Frontier was introduced in 2005 and was produced on a version of the popular Titan’s frame.
This 10 year milestone is a big one, seeing that this niche has been left pretty wide open since then. Even without being a large pickup the Canyon is anticipated to be highly capable. General Motors is promising consumer’s excellent horsepower from both the four and six cylinder engines.
Payload is also expected to be top notch with 1450 pounds, as well as a towing capacity of 6700 pounds which is only expected to rise with the use of diesel.
The Canyon’s new trailer brake controller will be the first for a midsize truck, but necessary for better safety when it comes to towing. General Motors announced this 2.8-liter Duramax diesel engine would be available for the GMC Canyon.
This engine will be a version of the global standard for the Colorado, but specifically altered for the American market. With the changes under the hood GM has also focused on the interior giving the new Canyon a modern cabin.
With triple-sealed doors, 8-inch touch screen, IntelliLink, OnStar, Navigation, and a host of options to monitor and limit teen drivers. For those drivers looking to make long distances hauls the Canyon also boasts dual-firmness foam seating designed specifically to make those long trips more comfortable.
