2016 Buick Regal Drops Price and Gains CarPlay
The new Buick GS variant trim Regal has seen an intense drop in price in 2016: about a nine percent drop to be exact, from $38,310 to $34,990. This is a huge deal seeing as this significant drop in price for the Regal also includes Apple CarPlay connectivity and three new exterior colors, making the Regal an extremely attractive option where the midsize luxury sedan is concerned.
And a top trip Buick Regal GS is certainly nothing to underestimate: the vehicle comes standard with a 2.0-liter turbocharged 1-4 engine, which pushes for about 259 horsepower and 295 pounds-feet of torque. The Regal GS is pushed by a six-speed transmission that offers a standard front-wheel drive, but customers have the option of going with a Haldex-type all-wheel-drive system. The EPA-estimated fuel economy is set at 21 miles per gallon in the city and 27 miles per gallon on the highway. Too, adaptive suspension was added to adjust the dampers for all your driving needs, whether they be a more relaxed or intense feel. The GS mode marks the suspension’s stiffest category, building up the steering effort and speeding up shifting which will certainly give the 2016 Buick Regal a different feeling.
Technologically speaking, the 2016 Buick Regal comes standard with OnStar 4G LTE connectivity with a Wi-Fi hotspot (more data is available via a subscription plan, but all trims of the Regal come with a three month, 3GB free trial). Too, Buick adds an eight inch touchscreen display that will run Buick’s IntelliLink infotainment system that will come standard with the aforementioned Apple CarPlay. (Android users do not fret: Android Auto is set to be added later on in the model year.) There are also a myriad of safety systems to be added to the 2016 Buick Regal. These systems include (but are not limited to) forward collision warning, lane departure warning, rear cross traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control.
All in all, this is a very good step in the right direction for Buick. Hopefully, such an entry on the market as the 2016 Regal will help fish the vehicle out of the purgatory it has found itself in during the last few sales years.
