2017 GMC Acadia is a Hit
At GMC dealer Arnie Bauer, you probably wouldn’t be surprised to read our praise of the 2017 GMC Acadia, a mid-size SUV that delivers precision and comfort. But if you won’t take our word for it, Consumer Reports recently weighed in on this all-new Acadia, and their conclusions sing a similar song.
Slimmer & trimmer in all the right places
“Instead of ‘go big or go home,’ GMC focused on ‘light makes right’ with the second-generation three-row Acadia. It’s an SUV that’s shorter, narrower and about 500 pounds lighter than its previous incarnation,” writes the third party reviewer. “Despite the smaller size, it has generous interior space, is more fuel-efficient and handles better than the old Acadia.”
In fact, the responsive handling in the all-new GMC Acadia was a big selling point for the reviewer, and Consumer Reports notes the cabin’s quiet ride and easy interface/infotainment controls make for a comfortable trip. Their wish list includes more premium features on the interior and a bit more efficiency, but the Acadia’s 310 horses and rapid 0-60 time of 6.8 seconds helps it pull ahead of the competition.
“The trimmer all-new GMC Acadia remains a practical and pleasant family hauler,” sums the reviewer.
A solid entry for GMC
Other voices have weighed in on this GMC SUV, with Jonathan Yarkony of Auto Guide praising the entry’s trim new offerings.
“GM is chasing the heart of the market that wants a moderately spacious, efficient and practical crossover that’s not too big,” writes Yarkony, “And the 2017 GMC Acadia is firmly in the middle of the segment and offers exactly the mix of capability and convenience that consumers are looking for in a midsize crossover segment.”
