2018 Yukon Denali Gets a Makeover

2018 Yukon Denali

Fans of the GMC Yukon Denali will be excited to learn that the 2018 model is here and it’s absolutely fantastic. Featuring a range of upgrades and new additions, the 2018 Yukon Denali builds on the vehicle’s reputation for smooth, relaxed power.

“[The] Yukon Denali has always matched style with substance, and the enhancements for 2018 advance that legacy,” Duncan Alfred, vice president of Global GMC, said in a recent interview. “The foundational elements of exclusive design, premium touches and uncompromising capability have made Yukon Denali an icon for nearly 20 years.”

GMC’s designers have brought a unique, sculpted look to the Yukon Denali for the 2018 model year, focusing on highlighting both its interior and exterior capabilities. One of the most immediately noticeable changes is, of course, to the vehicle’s iconic Denali grille.

The grille has evolved into a more multidimensional, architectural facet that was designed in a layered manner, similarly to the grilles we’ve seen on the GMC Acadia and the Terrain, and offers better airflow to the vehicle’s radiator. Drivers will notice the difference during highway driving when the grille will close automatically to reduce aerodynamic drag and bump up the vehicle’s overall efficiency.

“The new grille, which is flanked by HID headlamps and LED Signature Lighting, advances the design legacy established with the very first Yukon Denali in 1999,” Matt Noone, director of Global GMC exterior design, said. “It’s a more exciting and sophisticated design while remaining instantly recognizable as part of the GMC Denali family.”

Of course, the Denali’s efficiency and power wouldn’t matter if the components under the hood didn’t match up. The 2018 GMC Yukon Denali uses its traditional 6.2-liter V8 engine, but this time it’s paired to a new 10-speed automatic transmission. Together, they’re capable of generating 420 horsepower–enough to comfortably tow whatever you need to for that upcoming weekend adventure or tear up the carpool lane. The choice is yours.

Inside, the 2018 Yukon Denali features the same fantastic textiles and detailing its fans have become used to. However, the inclusion of a new Mastique Ash trim that utilizes real wood means that drivers who favor a more luxurious design theme will have a new option to satisfy them. The Mastique Ash trim starts at around $66,000 and can be found at a Matteson Cadillac dealer near you.

All 2018 Yukon Denali’s will come standard with GM’s ubiquitous infotainment system on an 8-inch touchscreen, allowing drivers and passengers to listen to their favorite music and access their most-used apps via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The vehicle also includes an optional 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot and wireless phone charging to keep fussy teens happy.

Although Arnie Bauer doesn’t have the 2018 Yukon Denali in stock just yet, we have some other great GMC and Buick models for sale. Drop by for a visit to check out our dealership inventory today!
