A Revamped Buick Logo is in the Works
GM North America President Mark Reuss recently told a group of journalists that the automotive giant is looking to freshen up the Buick’s famous tri-shield logo.
This will be the first redesign of the logo in more than a decade. The badge features three side-by-side shields enclosed in a circle. Reuss hinted that the all-chrome silhouette of the shields would be change as well.
It is being speculated that the redesign could involve color in the logo, which was at one time red, white and blue. The three vehicles that inspire the three shields – the LeSabre, Invicta and Electra – are gone, but the logo has endured.
While we are unsure as to why General Motors is looking to change the Buick logo, their spokesman was quick to point out that Buick has been the only auto brand to reduce the average age of their buyer over the last five years.
