Buick and GMC Donate School Supplies to Students
Students at Lakeview Elementary and Earlington Heights Elementary in Miami are more excited than usual to be in school these days thanks to Buick, GMC and their partnership with CBS EcoMedia Inc.
Thanks to the EducationAd advertising program, 933 young students recently received free backpacks filled with everything from notebooks, folders, pens, pencils, pencil sharpeners, erasers, scissors and more.
The hope is this donation will help lessen the burden on families including those with low incomes who struggle to pay for school supplies. “Given proper school supplies, children are able to fully participate in the educational experiences with which they are presented,” said Buick GMC’s Regional Director Brad Flaaen.
Non-profit partner to EcoMedia, the Kids In Need Foundation provided the supplies for the kids through its School Ready Supplies and Bulk Supplies Program. Kids in Need Foundation’s mission is to make sure that every child is prepared for school and is able to succeed by giving school supplies on a national level to those who are most in need.
“The generous donation from Buick and GMC doesn’t just impact the 933 students, it will lessen the burden on families and teachers,” said Paul Polizzotto, founder and president of CBS EcoMedia.
“We commend EcoMedia, Buick and GMC Dealers for understanding how important it is for students to have school supplies,” said Dave Smith, executive director of the Kids in Need Foundation. A community is changed, and these two schools are filled with kids who are excited to learn, and now they have to tools to do so.
