New Variations on An Old Favorite Underline Buick’s Rededication to Progress

If you’ve been keeping up with us here or with developments in the automotive world in general, then you’ll definitely be able to agree that things have amped up very quickly in recent months at Buick, as the company continues to reach out to some surprising new territory for the sake of a timely makeover. That may not be the most surprising part of the current equation, though, as the classic maker, known best for its long legacy of reliable luxury sedans, also continues to find a lot of exciting success with its bold new efforts. It’s still just the beginning of this great era of expansion at Buick, and we’ve got some more news today that’s sure to keep challenging the expectations of the folks who thought they knew what Buick was all about.

Sights Set on New Horizons

Putting its new transformative philosophy at the forefront of a soon-to-arrive fresh take on a familiar classic, Buick clearly means to continue its recent trend of stepping outside of its comfort zone to connect with some new markets. It’s certainly drawn plenty of attention to Buick dealerships lately, and the arrival of upcoming hatchback and wagon versions of the 2018 Buick Regal is sure to keep turning heads. With the curtain pulled back on these two new standout creations during a special press event at GM’s Design Dome facility last week, Buick officially takes another innovative step into a bright future.

A Well-Planned Surprise (Or Two)

Dubbed the Regal Sportback and the Regal TourX, respectively, the company’s new hatchback and wagon versions of its flagship mid-size sedan bring more than just some fancy new looks to the table. The TourX is reportedly powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, delivering a serious 250 horsepower to its nimble frame. The Sportback’s AWD version shares the configuration, while a standard four with a 9-speed automatic smooths things out for the front-wheel drive option. A considerate selection of new safety features and technological accommodations, including pedestrian-sensing automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and an 8-inch touchscreen hub.

Arriving for a Personal Introduction Soon!
