GM Looks to Encore to Draw Younger Crowd
With the new Buick Encore, General Motors hopes to carve out a new audience.
The automotive giant is hoping that the compact crossover will lure young buyers and those who don’t own a GM-branded vehicle.
This five-seater is the first of a new segment of small crossovers; part of a segment that is expected to grow substantially over the course of the next few years. GM has faith that the Encore will appeal to young professionals as well as the empty-nesters.
The Encore ranges in price from $24,950 to $28,840 and has a combined average fuel economy of 28 miles to the gallon on the front-wheel drive model.
Released on the cusp of a recent decrease of the average age of Buick buyer, the brand desires to continue as the only U.S. automaker to lower its average age.
“Now that we’ve got a second crossover in the portfolio we’re going to see new folks again coming into the showroom,” said Lloyd Biermann, marketing manager for the Buick Enclave and Encore crossovers said to The Detroit Free Press. “They’re going to be younger, as well.”
If you are interested in this crossover – young or old – come on down and visit the Arnie Bauer team. We’re looking forward to coming along on a test drive.
