GMC Introduces Fully Redesigned 2015 Yukon and Yukon XL
GMC is well known for their large SUVs, and the newly designed Yukon and Yukon XL certainly live up to the GMC standard. New styling, features, and technology give the Yukon and the Yukon XL an updated and modern look.
The 2015 Yukon and Yukon XL account for almost a third of all General Motors’ large SUV sales, and have recently undergone their first redesign in 7 years. It’s easy to see just by looking at the large SUV’s powerful exterior that this SUV is ready to play.
The new Yukon and Yukon XL are very similar and both have all the features you would expect of a premium large SUV like a detailed grille with chrome accents, available 18- and 20-inch brushed aluminum wheels, and an innovative passive entry system giving you access to all doors with close proximity of the key fob.
One feature not expected is the Yukon’s new stature, which was lowered 2.5 inches to improve the SUV’s overall aerodynamics. Lofty consumers needn’t worry as the Yukon and XL still stand at a staggering 6 feet, 2 inches giving even the tallest consumers comfort that the “large” is still very much present in this large SUV.
Under the hood of the Yukon and Yukon XL is the all-new EcoTec3 engine putting out 355 horsepower, and a commanding 383 lb.-ft of torque. The SUVs are offered in a 5.3-liter or 6.2-liter options, and leave plenty of possibilities for drivers to customize their ride. The redesigned SUVs will have a maximum towing range of around 7900 to 8500 pounds, which makes use of the Yukon’s new Hill Start Assist technology.
The new system prevents the vehicle’s possibility of rolling back when the SUV is on an incline. The large SUVs come with the standard GMC Pro Grade protection including 3 yr/36,000 mile bumper to bumper, 5 yr/100,000 mile powertrain, and 5 yr/100,000 mile roadside assistance packages.
