GMC Sales Reach a Six-Year High
The new sales figures coming from GMC are the highest we’ve seen in the last six years. They’re an overwhelming 23% higher than the previous year, and this phenomenon isn’t limited to just one model. These strong sales numbers are showing up across the board. Through January to July of 2013, they have sold an incredible 234,071 units.
According to gmauthority.com, one dealership owner claims that vehicles are selling as soon as they hit the lot. That claim may have been slightly inflated for marketing impact, yet the stats show that the 2014 Sierra is spending, on average, only two weeks on a dealer’s lot before being driven off into the sunset by its new owner. That’s an astounding figure for GMC sales, and it’s the pillar of their success. While all models have seen an increase in sales, the Sierra is the front runner by far.
GMC took the top spot in J.D. Power and Associates U.S. Customer Service Index Study, and it’s that level of customer satisfaction that industry experts think is, at least in part, driving these sales figures. They need that edge as Chevy has the upper hand in pricing. The strong sales trend is expected to continue into upcoming quarters as new vehicles and options come rolling on to the lots.
