The GMC Sierra 1500 Earns Five Stars for Safety
The results are in, and the 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 pickup truck has earned the prestigious, five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The NHTSA has the new Sierra 1500 five stars in their front and side crash test, and four stars in the rollover test. These new ratings are specifically based on the new Sierra 1500’s four-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive versions.
The 2015 Sierra is the newest pickup in the GMC lineup, and its available EcoTec3 5.3L V8 engine offers the best V8 fuel economy in any full size pickup, with an estimated 16 mpg city and 23 mpg highway rating. So whether you’re plowing snow or hauling your boat down south for the winter, this GMC can handle it.
The Sierra’s super power is also well managed with Duralife™ brake rotors which protect against corrosion and can double the life of brakes compared to conventional rotors. It’s the small details like this that make the 2015 Sierra 1500 one of the safest and most reliable vehicles on the market.
All other standard safety equipment is present as well, including six airbags, trailer sway control, electronic stability control, and hill-start assist. A rearview camera can provide peace of mind in tight parking spots or backing out of the driveway in the morning, which currently comes standard on the Sierra SLE, SLT, and Denali.
Most Sierra models are also equipped with OnStar and include automatic crash response, turn-by-turn navigation, remote door unlock, emergency services link, and roadside assistance.
The new Sierra 1500 is available now here at Arnie Bauer in Matteson, and as we head into winter, it’s a good time to reevaluate the safety of your vehicle. Be safe this holiday season, and come into our showroom to see what reliable vehicle is right for you!
