How Buick is Winning Its Customers
It’s hard to believe the full-size Enclave SUV has been around for ten years.
In that time, Buick has managed to secure its place as GM’s second best-selling auto brand in the world, the third best in the U.S. and the fourth most popular brand in China. Among American women, the Enclave wins best-selling luxury SUV, according to IHS Markit Ltd analyst M arc Bland and more than three-quarters of its vehicle sales are attributed to the Enclave, Encore and Envision.
And those of us here at Arnie Bauer expect that popularity for the Buick Enclave will soar because of the brand’s decision to offer upgraded trim level on all Avenir models.
Some of the changes that accompany the premium sub brand are a significant increase in interior space and hidden underfloor storage space. On the exterior, the seven-seater SUV takes on a more athletic and sophisticated appearance, defined by a sharper windshield angle, lower roofline and longer wheelbase – all while weighing in at 400 pounds less than its predecessor.
What many full-size truck lovers seem to appreciate most about the Enclave Avenir are the standard features offered on Buick’s new top-of the line trim level. Some of these include a mesh grille, 20-inch six-spoke aluminum wheels, heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, tri-zone automatic climate control, seven air bags, rear vision camera, and rear park assist, upper and lower grille shutters and a hands-free power-programmable lift-gate with illuminating Buick tri-shield logo.
The 2018 Buick Enclave also offers a wide range of luxury amenities like upgraded leather seats, heated and cooled (depending on the model), heated second-row seats, five optional premium paint colors, bi-functional LED projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, an air ionizer that freshens and upgrades the air quality, exclusive Chestnut interior trim and colors featuring ebony piping on the seats with contrasting stitching, embroidered first-row headrests, a wood-accented steering wheel, Avenir floor mats and scripted sill plates on each door.
The 2018 Enclave comes with a nine-speed automatic transmission and twin-clutch all-wheel drive system. Did we mention power? This Buick’s 3.6-liter V6 is capable of 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque.
While it’s not designed to be a sporty SUV, the Avenir offers more than enough power for the average driver to get from point A to point B.
