Kid Rock Receives Custom “Detroit Cowboy” GMC Sierra from Georgia Shop
As a kid from Detroit, Kid Rock has an innate appreciation for General Motors vehicles and is the proud owner of dozens of GM vehicles. That’s why Georgia-based custom car shop Rocky Ridge Trucks knew that the perfect gift for the rock star would be an all-new, highly customized GMC Sierra 1500 Z71 4×4.
To celebrate the rocker’s engagement to long-time girlfriend Audrey Berry earlier this year, Rocky Ridge Trucks custom-built the stellar GMC truck to include details and references to Kid Rock’s passions for music and great cars. The musician has had a long-standing relationship with the automaker for years and worked on partnerships with Chevrolet as recently as 2016. Kid Rock even produced a song titled “Trucker’s Anthem” back in 2001 to acknowledge his love of the open road.
Kid Rock’s new custom GMC is one of the best trucks on the market, and thanks to Rocky Ridge’s upgrades it’s one of the most performance-oriented vehicles in the musician’s fleet.
The custom GMC Sierra 1500 Z71 4×4 has been fitted with Rocky Ridge’s K2 package, which includes a 2.9L Whipple supercharger and a MagnaFlow dual side-exit exhaust. With the upgrades, the vehicle achieves an impressive 577 horsepower.
The custom Sierra also features Rocky Ridge’s Signature Series 6” suspension lift, 20-inch Black Havok off-road wheels, 35-inch Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ tires, power side steps and custom fender flares. A close inspection of Kid Rock’s newest ride reveals the addition of a stealth coated hood, a stealth coated grille, stealth coated bumpers on the front and rear, a rolled steel bull bar and a 20-inch LED light. Lest you forget who this awesome truck belongs to, a plasma-cut “Detroit Cowboy” logo on the tailgate serves as the ultimate reminder.
Inside, the vehicle’s customization is even more pronounced with re-upholstered leather seats featuring a custom embroidered “American Badass” badge.
Rocky Ridge made sure that every inch of Kid Rock’s new GMC Sierra was customized to reflect his Detroit Cowboy attitude. Of course, we’d expect nothing less from the renowned shop known for creating special vehicles for the likes of Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Chase Elliott and a roster of other famous athletes and entertainers.
Rocky Ridge currently produces upgrade packages for the Chevrolet, GMC, Jeep, RAM, Ford and Toyota truck lines. Most of their available packages center around suspension or performance upgrades.
