Luxury Is Only One Way To Describe the 2015 GMC Sierra 2500HD
The 2015 GMC Sierra 2500HD isn’t just a pickup anymore.
If Arnie Bauer could describe the 2015 Sierra in just a few words, stylish, quiet, comfortable, and powerful immediately come to mind.
Kelly Bluebook says the new GMC pickup is “an appealing combination of refinement and capability” and “one of the best interiors in the segment.”
This year, the Sierra gets a serious overhaul and the folks at GM were sure to make noise reduction a clear focus this time around.
For starters, they added triple door seals and a new inlaid door design to create a barrier against sounds coming from outside the cabin. They also added extra material in the outside wheel well skirting to absorb any road noise coming through the wheel wells.
The Sierra’s mirrors were redesigned and angled back to avoid noise from the wind while body mounts and a hydraulic powertrain reduce and tune out vibrations.
Sierras equipped with the optional 6.2 liter V8 come with an optional active noise cancellation system to quiet the sounds from the high-powered engine.
The engineers at GM wanted to prove that a heavy-duty pickup could be held to the same luxury standards as a Cadillac. And this year, the Sierra 2500HD received some pretty bold styling updates.
The goal was to improve on what the automaker had already accomplished with the 2014 version: comfort and technology.
This includes the double cab and revised crew cab body styles. GM redesigned the seats adding two additional inches for more leg room and larger doors for easier entry and exit.
The Sierra’s new interior layout is also more intuitive. New easier-to-reach controls, extra storage compartments, plugins for multi-connectivity, and an IntelliLink infotainment system with an eight-inch diagonal color touch screen, were all designed to cater to truck enthusiasts on the workday or weekend.
This truck comes loaded with lots of refined appointments like soft-touch materials and aluminum trim for the instrument panel, door trim, steering wheel, and center console including contrasting stitching.
For added comfort, GM engineers included dual-density seat foam that holds its shape longer.
The exterior of the new 2015 Sierra 2500HD features a soft-opening tailgate, an integrated rear step in the rear bumper, EZ Lift and Lower tailgate, and standard StabiliTrak with Trailer Sway Control.
It’s been refined to include chrome grille surround, projector headlamp and LED signature front lighting, and 20″ forged polished aluminum wheels.
Of course, the 2015 Sierra 2500 wouldn’t be the best in its class if it weren’t for its superior towing capability. The Sierra’s leads its class toting a payload of 7,374 pounds, a towing rate of up to 19,600 pounds, and segment-leading maximum fifth-wheel towing rating of up to 23,200 pounds.
The Sierra’s powerfully advanced DURAMAX Diesel engine puts out 397 hp and 765 lb ft of torque and when mated with the available Allison 1000 Series Transmission with overdrive, Arnie Bauer thinks this truck delivers like no other in its class. Stop by today to test drive one of our new GMC models.
