New Cadillac Prototype Spotted on Michigan Streets
The surprise surfacing of Cadillac’s flagship prototype has the auto world buzzing with excitement and speculation. Cadillac has yet to confirm even the existence of this flagship vehicle, but it seems confirmation seems a bit superfluous now with a top secret sighting.
The car was recently spotted covered in heavy camouflage on the streets of Michigan on what can only be assumed to be a test drive. Although it was almost completely covered, a large grille and Cadillac’s signature headlight placement was visible.
The new vehicle is rumored to be modeled on a longer and wider version of the base of Cadillac’s popular CTS. The vehicle is known only by the code name Omega, and is expected to feature styling from the futuristic Elmiraj concept vehicle Cadillac revealed last year. The Elmiraj is highly acclaimed for its daring new design and a coupe is anticipated to follow its initial release.
The flagship would most likely feature rear and all-wheel drive model options and a range of powertrain options as well. Consumers might see a version of the latest 6.6-liter small-block V8 that is currently housed in the new 2015 Cadillac Escalade. Another possibility is the 4.5-liter twin turbo V8 which is currently featured in the Elmiraj.
As of right now this split second peek has generated an increased interest in Cadillac’s under wraps prototype flagship, but it seems the fans will have to wait until the 2016 model year when this mysterious vehicle is likely to debut.
