Say Hello to the New CUE
When it comes to infotainment systems, there are winners and there are losers. For most drivers, the Cadillac User Experience system checks off a number of wins, but Cadillac knows it has to stay ahead of the curve if it wants to be the best. That’s why they’re rolling out a brand new CUE infotainment system in the 2017.5 CTS sedan which focuses less on flashy features and more on straightforward speed, usability and natural personalization.
A more personal driving experience
“The new design takes more of a flat approach, with a more smartphone type of look, a trend that doesn’t seem to be going anywhere any time soon,” writes Andrew Krok for CNET’s Road Show.
Of most interest to drivers, the new CUE will feature personalized, cloud-stored profiles that save information on contacts, route preferences, destinations and on-screen app arrangement. Another cool feature? If you take a spin in any other Cadillac featuring this new CUE, you can login to your settings and load up your preferences in just a few taps.
And to help drivers make the most of this new system, Cadillac is throwing in 12 free months of connected navigation for free. The new CUE cloud allows the subscription service to learn your preferred routes, even taking into consideration items such as traffic and previous destinations. You’ll still have access to GM’s on-board 4G LTE connectivity, and both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported.
The new CUE will first be seen in the upcoming 2017.5 CTS and the XTS and ATS as Cadillac kicks off their 2018 model year. After that, it’ll begin rolling out with all of the new Cadillac models we can’t wait to get on the lot at Arnie Bauer.
