The New Cutting-Edge 2017 Cadillac CT6 Surveillance System
Have you ever parked your car and come back to a door ding or a scrape with no note or information as to how it happened?
The all-new 2017 Cadillac CT6 has your back.
The 2017 CT6 will feature automatic, 360-degree Surround Vision, a surveillance system that triggers any time someone (or something) comes into close proximity. When triggered, the CT6’s technology jumps into action, with four cameras silently recording and saving onto a hidden SD card. Footage can be downloaded to a personal computer or replayed on the CT6’s CUE infotainment system in the cabin, coinciding with the CT6’s dash-cam mode functionality that allows for videos to be simultaneously recorded via the front and rear cameras.
Surround Vision will be standard on all CT6 models above the base-line, and it’s a feature that’s great for increased safety but also makes for a nice travel video. It’s possible that the technology could make its way into other Cadillac models, but GM spokespersons are currently reticent on the subject.
Another standout safety feature already seen on the 2016 CT6 is the Rear Camera Mirror that uses combination glass to double as a high-definition camera. GM reports that this rearview camera mirror increases the field of view behind the CT6 to 300 percent more vision than that seen with a standard rearview mirror, making it a delectable safety feature. This HD video feed can be toggled on and off with a simple touch.
